Friendship Explorer Club 1

Unlocking Confidence & Friendships

Our Friendship Explorer Club integrates two evidence-based programs into one fun-filled group program.

UCLA Children Friendship Curriculum:
This curriculum focuses on equipping children with essential social skills. Through engaging activities and interactive sessions, participants will learn how to make a positive first impression, foster meaningful conversations, discover common interests, practice fair play, resolve conflicts, handle rejection gracefully, seamlessly join in play, and demonstrate respect for others.

Connects Curriculum: The purp
ose of the Connects Curriculum is to help young people develop psychological flexibility - in other words, the ability to persist in important things they care about, and to change behaviours that are making their life more challenging.

D, N, and A stand for three types of behaviour that are embedded within ourselves and ideally, we can use them to build values (V) (things that are important to us in life).

Discoverer (D) is a skill we teach children to help them broaden their abilities and make social connections. We use discoverer skills to try new things. Noticer (N) helps young people become aware of their bodies, the signals coming in from the world, and their feelings that come and go. Helping kids notice gives them opportunities to learn about their body and how it works. Advisor (A) is simply a metaphor we use for our inner voice, thoughts, or self-talk.

In our Friendship Explorers Club, children will embark on a transformative journey to build lasting friendships, develop emotional regulation skills, and unlock their full potential.
