Teen Gaming Night is an opportunity for teens to get together, play video games, hang out and meet others in a safe & accepting environment.

Who is this group for?

Teenagers between the ages of 11 - 17 who enjoy gaming and are interested in hanging out with other like-minded teens

Will my teenager learn social skills at this group?

No. This group is an unstructured meet-up. There will not be socials skills taught during this group but it may be a good place to practice social skills your teen is currently working on

Who else will be there?

There will be 2 hosts for the evening at Partycade.

One host works with Partycade and will help people choose and set up games. The Partycade host will help with any technical issues that arise as well

The other host works with Progressive Steps Training and Consultation Inc. She will check each participant in and facilitate introductions to ensure everyone feels welcome and comfortable.

Other teens age 11 - 17 who love gaming. Some may bring someone to support them as well!

My son or daughter will need support to attend, will you provide support?

Unfortunately support to attend this event is not provided.

If your son or daughter will need support, a parent, caregiver, sibling, friend or respite worker is allowed to attend with them as well

Every person that attends, even as a support person, will need to pay the registration fee

Because this group is an unstructured hang out and not an evidence-based treatment the cost of the group cannot be reimbursed through ACCESS OAP.

My son or daughter does not communicate vocally. Can they attend?

Absolutely! As long as they have a means to communicate their wants and needs to unfamiliar people and/or a support person attends with them.

My son or daughter can sometimes become aggressive towards themselves, others, or property. Can they attend?

Unfortunately not. Due to the limited space, support staff available and the cost of the equipment at Partycade, individuals that may engage in aggressive or destructive behaviour are not able to attend.

Attendees that exhibit aggressive behaviour will be asked to leave immediately.

Yes, nut free snacks will be provided as well as juice and water

What can my teen do at Teen Gaming Night?

Play video games, of course!

Partycade is a games room designed for individual and multiplayer gaming. There are WII games, PS4 games, XBOX one Games, XBOX 360 games, Nintendo switch games, and a variety of Arcade games. Virtual Reality games will not be available on Teen Gaming Night.

If your teenager doesn't want to play games, they're welcome to come just to hang out, have snacks, watch others play and meet other teens.

What happens if my teen gets bored or wants to leave early?
- No Problem!
- Attendees are welcome to come and go as they please anytime between 6 and 8 pm.
- If they want to leave early, we can call you to come pick them up
- Participating and attending is their choice!

What if my teen just wants to play alone and not with others?

That's cool! There will be no pressure to hang out and engage with others

If your teen just want to explore the Games Room and play in the presence of others, that's a-okay by us!

Will Teen Gaming Night be a weekly or monthly event?

So far, this is a one night only event.

If there's interest to do this on a regular basis, we'll do our best to make it happen.

How do I pay?

Once registration is received, you'll receive an invoice for $30 per person.
